Despite this, there is a notable possibility that colonies of these insects persist undiscovered in less frequented regions of the forest. In order to facilitate a broader engagement in the search, the New Forest Cicada Project has introduced a specialized application capable of detecting and identifying the characteristic song of this elusive species.
